Care at Coppermill

We believe that life inside a residential care home should be a continuation of your life at home, made only easier with the support of our team. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and consider each of our residents to be family.

That’s why here at our home we endeavour to ensure that each of our residents enjoys a happy and fulfilling stay with us – and to achieve this, we offer a safe and relaxing environment complete with personalised care, delicious, freshly-cooked food, excellent company and a wide variety of vibrant activities for them to enjoy.

Holistic, Person-Centred Care

We tailor our care and support to meet the personal needs of each person living with us. Working in partnership with the loved ones of our residents, we will go the extra mile to help them to live a fulfilled life here with us. While we offer excellent everyday care, ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents, it doesn’t just stop here. We will truly get to know each resident, their likes and dislikes, even making sure that they have the right number of sugars in their tea.

With this information we produce a personalised plan of care, reflecting the individual needs of the resident.

Communal Areas

The centre provides two spacious lounges and one dining room on the ground floor and a further two lounges and one dining area on the first floor. Our dining facilities offer a range of options throughout the day and as our own chefs freshly prepare all meals, looking after special dietary needs is never an issue. We also provide a kitchenette facility on each floor so that residents and their visitors can make beverages and snacks when they require.

One of our most frequented areas is The Hideaway lounge. Located on the ground floor, with access to Coppermill’s secure gardens, The Hideaway offers residents and their guests a country inn themed recreational area in which they can relax, have tea and enjoy each other’s company.

We also offer our lovely, landscaped gardens in the back of the home, offering residents an opportunity to spend time outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. We have beautiful lawns and patio areas, with plenty of outdoor seating space for our senior care home residents to sit back and enjoy the sun.

Recreation and Relaxation

Our exciting and varied activities programmes are in full swing with residents enjoying visiting entertainers, trips out, exercise classes and much more.

All of this bustle, fun and camaraderie is in stark contrast to the isolation, loneliness and lack of support that many elderly people can feel while living at home alone. Instead of a single visit from a carer each day, Coppermill residents find themselves immersed in a real community with beneficial effects for physical fitness and state of mind.

Take part, or just relax…

While we encourage independent living and healthy eating, helping residents to live a full and active life, there are absolutely no expectations of anybody. If you’d prefer to sit and relax in the comfort of your own room, then there is absolutely no obligation to participate in our activities. We endeavour to provide a wide variety of activities each tailored towards meeting the interests of each resident so that there is truly something for everybody to enjoy when staying at our home.

Delicious, nutritious meals

We know that good food makes people happy. So we make sure everyone’s personal preferences and dietary requirements are catered for in our care home.

As well as serving three delicious meals every day, we make sure our residents – especially those living with dementia – have easy access to snacks and drinks throughout the day and night. Proper nutrition and hydration is essential to health and wellbeing. For residents who are living with dysphagia, the medical term for difficulty in swallowing, we create food that is not only easy to take but also looks and tastes appealing.
