Daily Life - Activities

We encourage everyone to maintain the friendships, hobbies and interests they had prior to moving to Coppermill.  Our Activity Co-ordinators and Activity Assistants are all experienced in providing activities for the elderly and plan a varied weekly timetable.

Communal activities include bowling, music and movement and bingo, in addition to activities such as beauty-therapy and board games. In addition, each resident has his or her own individual activity plan.

Organised excursions are offered, having included trips to Windsor, Beaconsfield model village and various local theatres.   We also undertake a holiday each year for those who enjoy time at the seaside.

Assistance is offered to those wishing to go shopping or out for a drink, including at our own restaurant/pub, ‘The Hideaway’.  This location is home to various themed activities including pub quizzes and race nights and is a hive of activity for all. On a monthly basis, we create a special restaurant setting with a dedicated menu, including music, wine and other refreshments. Families are welcome to join us on these occasions and indeed we welcome involvement from families with all our activities.

To keep in touch, Coppermill has a hands-free telephone available to residents wishing to make a call. We can also arrange for the installation of a private telephone, if required. There is Internet and WiFi available for anyone wishing to use it and residents can enjoy their own television within their room.

A Monday-Friday delivery service of newspapers is provided and we also create our own Newsletter every quarter year, which circulates events and stimulates suggestions and further involvement in the day to day running of the centre. To view the latest edition, please follow this link.
